On 16-18 February 2024, the 6th Thai Festival was held at Sheikha Fatima Park in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The event was organized by the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi in cooperation with the Tourism Authority of Thailand, the Thai Labor Office, the Thai Trade Center, PTT MEA, PTT EP, SCG, Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi Hotel, Anantara Eastern Mangroves Hotel, Centara Mirbat Beach Resort in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation (UAM), and Sheikha Fatima Park.

 

The Festival was inaugurated on 16 February 2024 by His Excellency Mr. Sorayut Chasombat, Ambassador of Thailand and was attended by dignitaries from nine countries, executives from Team Thailand;
Mrs. Palida Ruamkham, Minister-Counsellor (Labor Affairs), Mr. Pitichai Ratananaka, Director of Thai Trade Center in Dubai, Miss Sutipa Teerapatsakul, Deputy Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), Ms. Pattamaporn Sangwichit, General Manager, PTT MEA, Mr. Vitoon Chaisomboonpan, Regional Director of PTT EP in MENA, and Mr. Ali Al Khouri, Board Member of the UAM, representatives from the Department of Culture and Tourism Abu Dhabi, representatives from Abu Dhabi Capital Group, as well as representatives from other public and private agencies.

 

The Festival featured a variety of Thai cultural activities, such as traditional Thai performances and Thai music shows led by Khun Todd Thongdee, a youth Muay Thai tournament, Thai food stalls from leading restaurants in Abu Dhabi, and 34 Thai shops selling cosmetics, health products, and snacks, as well as Thai massage and beauty services from Thai spas and hospitals. In addition, the Thai Women’s Circle in Abu Dhabi provided Thai fruit carving and Thai language classes, as well as traditional games to children and festival attendees.

 

The 6th Thai Festival received a lot of attention and was an important opportunity for Thailand to promote its culture to the international community. The event attracted many visitors, including foreigners, with approximately 20,000 people participating over the three-day period. It showcased the beauty of Thai arts and culture to the world and was a successful cultural exchange between Thailand and the United Arab Emirates.
