Thai Ambassador to the UAE presided over Royal Decoration Presentation Ceremony for a Thai national who have devoted service for the benefit of Thai people

            On 11 September 2009, Amb. Karn Chiranond presided over the Presentation Ceremony of the Most Admirable Order of the Direkgunabhorn which had been bestowed upon Mrs. Renu Knowling. The ceremony was then followed by a dinner reception at the Ambassador’s residence. On this occasion, approximately 50 Thais and Foreigners who were close associates of Mrs. Knowling were present to congratulate her.

           Mrs. Knowling has devoted her service to the Thai Community in Abu Dhabi and peripheral areas by teaching Thai language and culture to Thai youths who currently reside in the UAE with their families. This is to enable Thai youths in overseas to be familiar and value Thai customs and culture and also to allow them to be able to read and write Thai at a certain level.

           In the spirit of the above devotion, the Embassy humbly requested through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for the Silver Medal (Seventh Class) of the Direkgunabhorn in honour of Mrs. Renu Knowling, of which, was bestowed upon her by H.M. the King on the occasion of H.M.’s Birthday Anniversary on 5 December 2007.
