Thai Ambassador to the UAE attended MOSAIC 2010 opening ceremony at Sharjah Higher Colleges of Technology

            On 12 April 2010, H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, Thai Ambassador to the UAE attended the MOSAIC 2010 opening ceremony which is an annual event of Sharjah Higher Colleges of Technology, as per invitation of the College’s Rector. The ceremony was presided by H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, Ruler of the Emirate of Sharjah and attended by other prominent local and international figures including H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ambassadors of the USA, Indonesia, Nepal, Jordan, and Senegal. 

           On this occasion, the Thai Ambassador made acquaintance with 15 students and their mentors who visited Chiangmai Province of Thailand to perform charitable work by constructing a house for a family of villagers without home. The students expressed their satisfaction for having been assigned to work and experience Thailand especially in the northern part, of which, would be imprinted on their minds forever.

           In this regard, H.E. the Ambassador took an opportunity to congratulate both the students and their mentors for the achievements made in Thailand while extending an invitation for them to visit other parts of Thailand again with their families. The Ambassador emphasized that this goodwill had had earned them the status of Friends of Thailand.
