Thai Ambassador to the UAE presided over the opening ceremony of Thailand Summer Festival Special Offers Fair 2010

            On 18 June 2010, H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon,Thai Ambassador to the UAE together with Mr. Pramoth Supyen, Director of Thai Tourism Authority in Dubai, presided over the opening ceremony of Thailand Summer Festival Special Offers Fair 2010 which was held at        Al Khalidiya Mall, Abu Dhabi during 18 – 19 June 2010. 

            The said fair was to boost sales and promote tourism in Thailand during the UAE summer vacation. It was also aimed at revitalizing the image of Thailand after such prolonged political unrest in Bangkok. The Tourism Authority of Thailand hosted this event in alliance with several companies of the UAE tourism sector including Etihad Airways, Dusit Thani Dubai and a number of leading tour operators based in Abu Dhabi. Besides dissemination of tourist information, the tour operators had actively advertised and sold a number of special packages to Thailand at reasonable fares.

            This weekend activity had attracted a substantial number of prospective buyers as well the Mall’s clients who were enchanted by the Thai ambience especially the traditional Thai dances and the performance of Thai musical instruments. In addition, a Thai owned spa “Thailand Oasis Spa” had also demonstrated traditional Thai massage at their outlet, of which, had drawn a large number of people.
