Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi celebrated the 78th Birthday Anniversary of H.M. the Queen of Thailand for UAE and foreign dignitaries residing in the UAE

                        On 18 September 2010, after the holy month of Ramadan, H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, Ambassador of Thailand to the UAE, hosted a reception on the occasion of the 78th Birthday Anniversary of H.M. Queen Sirikit of Thailand at InterContinental Hotel, Abu Dhabi. The event was participated by Diplomatic Corps, UAE high ranking officials, prominent businessmen, and representatives of the Thai community of around 250 people.  

                        Upon the arrival of all guests, the Ambassador presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a speech on H.M. the Queen’s biography, Royal duties, and several achievements which had not only been praised by the Thai people but also recognized by the international community. Afterward, a toast was proposed to H.M. the Queen of Thailand. 

                        On this occasion, the Embassy had organized an exhibition of H.M. the Queen’s life and accomplishments as well as displayed 3 portraits of Her Majesty in different postures and locations painted by Mrs. Nudaeng Yensabai, a reputable Thai artist residing in Abu Dhabi. In addition, souvenirs from the SUPPORT Foundation of H.M. Queen Sirikit had also been prepared for all the guests.  

                        In light of this auspicious celebration, the Embassy took this opportunity to promote and restore the image of Thailand by offering Thai food and fruits, organizing traditional Thai performances, and decorating the venue with Thai orchids to create a genuine Thai atmosphere.  Moreover, Tourism Authority of Thailand and Thai Airways International have also joined the Embassy’s effort by setting up outlets to provide information about tourism in Thailand.
