On 25 February 2013, H.E. Mr. Warawudh Chuwiruch, Thai Ambassador to the UAE, and Mr. Thosaporn Moonlasartsathorn, Thai Consul-General to Dubai, visited Gulfood 2013, the world’s largest annual exhibition for food and beverage industry which is participated by 4,200 companies from 110 countries this year.
           The Ambassador and the Consul-General met and greeted Thai exporters from 88 companies and exchanged views on opportunities and challenges in food export to the UAE and the Middle East. The Ambassador also introduced the Thai exhibitors to the Bangkok-based importer of Thai products for LuLu Hypermarket, the largest supermarket chain in the UAE.  In addition, the Ambassador gave an interview to Moon TV on Thai food export to the UAE, highlighting Thailand’s strength in agriculture and food processing industry and the UAE’s importance as regional re-export hub of Thai food products.
           The Ambassador and the Consul-General then attended the Global Food Leaders Summit, whose opening speech was delivered by H.E. Sheikha Lubna Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade of the UAE, and learned that the Minister herself had visited the Thai pavilion.
