On 11 September 2015, the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi arranged a mobile consular service unit to Al Ruwais,  in order to provide consular and related services to 300 Thai people/workers who are living and working in the area. The services included: assessing new E- passport applications and providing consular guidance.

The Royal Thai Embassy also took opportunity to distribute Thai food, Thai newspapers and magazine, reading glasses and some useful pamphlets to Thai community.
