On 24th February 2016, H.E. Dr. Surin Pitsuwan, Sepecial Envoy of the Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, led the delegation to a meeting with H.E. Dr. Tariq Ahmed Ibrahim Al Hidan, Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates. 
 

The purpose of the meeting is to boost the campaign for the candidature for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) of Thailand for the term 2017-2018, and also to discuss the cooperation between Thailand and U.A.E. in various areas, for instance, economic cooperation.
