On 23^rd October 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi co-hosted “ASEAN Reception” with  ASEAN Committee in Abu Dhabi (ACAD), comprising of seven ASEAN member countries base in the United Arab Emirates, namely Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Viet Nam, to celebrate the 50^th Anniversary of ASEAN at Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi.

The event was attended by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, as the Guests, along with H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Director of Department of East Asia and Pacific Affairs, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, representatives from the United Arab Emirates governments, private sectors, representatives from Team Thailand in the United Arab Emirates. The number of the guests attended the event were 500 approximately.

H.E. Mr. Komate Kamalanavin, Ambassador of Thailand to the United Arab Emirates and currently the Chairman of ACAD delivered the Opening Speech, followed by the cultural performances and video clips to promote the countries and tourism of  each ASEAN member countries. At the event, there were the ASEAN Food corners prepared by the seven ASEAN Embassies and the booths for each countries to promote and provide useful information about their countries. The Thai booth was represented by the Tourism Authority of Thailand, Dubai Office.
