On 7 June 2018, President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan has bestowed the Order of Independence, First Class, on Komate Kamalanavin, Thai Ambassador to the UAE, in recognition of his efforts during his tenure in the country, which contributed to the development and strengthening of the friendly relations and cooperation between the UAE and Thailand across all fields.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, presented the order to the ambassador at a ceremony held at the premises of the Ministry in the capital.
