Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi celebrated H.M. the King’s 82nd Birthday Anniversary                    

             The Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi had celebrated the 82nd Birthday Anniversary of H.M. the King during 3 – 4 and 8 December 2009.

            On 3 December 2009, a number of Thai and Foreign nationals residing in Abu Dhabi and peripheral areas participated in the blood donation activity at the Blood Bank in Abu Dhabi. Afterward, they were invited for lunch at the Embassy.

            On 4 December 2009, around 400 Thai nationals and their families gathered at the Ambassador’s residence to join in the Candle lighting Ceremony as well as other related activities to wish H.M. the King a very Happy Birthday. In light of such auspicious event, the participants were served with scrumptious Thai food and were entertained by live band music, traditional Thai dances, and raffle draw activity

            On 8 December 2009, the Royal Thai Embassy, by which Mr. Surapol Maneepong, Charge d’ Affaires a.i. hosted a reception on the occasion of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 82nd Birthday Anniversary and the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand at Liwa Majlis, InterContinental Hotel, Abu Dhabi. The UAE Government had assigned H.E.    Mr. Khalid Ghanim Mohammed Al Ghaith, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs to take part in the ceremony as the representative of the UAE Government. The reception was attended by several prominent figures of the UAE, diplomatic corps, and a number of Thai nationals, totaling of over 200 people.

            Guests had an opportunity to witness the Thai identity in various aspects including the authentic Thai food and desserts, traditional performances, vegetables and fruits carving demonstration as well as the orchid brooches offered by Thai ladies in traditional costumes from different regions of Thailand. On this occasion, H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, the Ambassador – designate and his wife were also present at this auspicious function.
