Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi celebrated H.M. the King’s 83rd Birthday Anniversary  

             Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi celebrated the 83rd Birthday Anniversary of H.M. the King and the National Day of Thailand on 3 and 5 December 2010.

            On 3 December 2010, over 500 Thai nationals and their families gathered at the Ambassador’s residence to join in the Candle lighting Ceremony as well as other related activities to wish H.M. the King a very Happy Birthday. In light of such auspicious event,

the participants were served with scrumptious Thai food and were entertained by live band music, traditional Thai dances, and raffle draw activity. The latter was organized by Thai Ladies’s Club in Abu Dhabi to raise fund for the worldwide heart surgery for underpriviledge patients in honour of H.M. the King of Thailand on the occasion of His 83rd Birthday Anniversary.

            On 5 December 2010, H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon and spouse hosted a reception on the occasion of H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s 83rd  Birthday Anniversary and the National Day of the Kingdom of Thailand at Shangri – La Hotel, Qaryat Al Beri,  Abu Dhabi. The auspicious event was attended by H.E. Dr. Saeed Mohamed Al Shamsi, Assistant Foreign Minister for International Organization as the Guest of Honour and representative of the UAE Government. The reception was also attended by several prominent figures of the UAE, diplomatic corps, and a number of Thai nationals, totaling of around 300 people.

            Guests had an opportunity to witness the Thai identity in various aspects including the authentic Thai food and desserts, traditional performances, vegetables and fruits carving demonstration which were performed and demonstrated by porfessors and art students from Rajabhat Suan Dusit University in Thailand.
