The Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi organized a friendly football match between Thai Muslim students, members of the Thai community and staff of Team Thailand in the UAE on 28 September 2012 during 17.00-19.00 hrs at Zayed Sports City, the national sports complex in Abu Dhabi.
           H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, Thai Ambassador to the UAE, kicked-off the match after revealing that its objective was to provide a get-together between the 12 scholarship students at the Islamic Scientific Institute (Secondary School) in Al Ain and members of the Thai community and Team Thailand in the UAE. The latter contributed 14 players including staffs from the Embassy, the Labour Office, the Royal Thai Consulate-General and Thai Trade Center in Dubai. They were cheered on by their families and Thai community.
           After the match, the Ambassador invited the students from Al Ain and Team Thailand to a dinner at the Ambassador’s Residence and handed over various sport equipments to the students for recreation purposes, such as footballs, basketball, volleyballs, table tennis bats and balls, badminton rackets and shuttlecocks.
