The Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi organized “Flavours of Thailand” during 30 September – 6 October 2012 at Millennium Hotel Abu Dhabi to promote Thailand’s image and the unique beauty of Thai culture in the UAE.
           In his opening speech, H.E. Mr. Somchai Charanasomboon, Thai Ambassador to the UAE, said that the Embassy has attached great importance to the promotion of the Thai cuisine, culture and tourism. This has led to the continuous rise in numbers of Thai restaurants in the UAE as well as UAE tourists traveling to Thailand during the Ambassador’s tenure.
          The one-week event was attended by 1,346 guests who mostly appreciated the delicious Thai food prepared by the Thai chef who was arrived from Grand Millennium Sukhumvit for this week exclusively. The crowd also showed great interest in the Thai traditional dances and fruit and vegetable carving, both of which were performed by members of the Thai community in Abu Dhabi.
          The event was also supported by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (Dubai Office) and Jet Airways.
