On 3-4 September 2014, the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi led a delegation from Masdar Institute of Science and Technology, Abu Dhabi, UAE, on a trip to meet Thai students and faculty members of leading Thai universities in engineering and science.  The objectives were to raise awareness about the scholarships at Master’s and PhD level that Masdar Institute has been providing for up to 10 Thai students yearly and to establish academic and research collaboration with Thai universities.
The delegation was warmly received by the Engineering Faculties of King Mongkut University of Technology Thonburi, Mahidol University and King Mongkut University of Technology North Bangkok.  About 110 students in total attended the scholarship briefing.  The delegation also called upon Ms. Rangsima Charubha, Deputy Secretary-General of Office of Civil Service Commission (OCSC) and discussed various issues with OCSC officials.
Masdar Institute currently offers 9 English language programs in engineering and science and has a partnership with Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in the USA. All students accepted by Masdar Institute receive a full scholarship which includes tuition fees, book supplies, accommodation, air tickets and monthly allowances. 3 Thai students are currently studying there at Master’s Degree.
