On 16 September 2026, H.E. Mr. Bolbongse Vangphaen, Ambassador of Thailand to the UAE, participated as a speaker in the Cyber Diplomacy Forum, held for the first time as part of GISEC Global 2026 (Gulf Information Security and Expo Conference) at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), Expo City Dubai. GISEC Global is organised by the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), while the Forum was developed in collaboration with the UAE Cybersecurity Council and powered by DAAKYI, with the aim of promoting dialogue among governments, international organisations and the private sector on cybersecurity, diplomacy and international security.

On the occasion, the Ambassador highlighted Thailand’s approach to promoting cyber norms and rules, capacity-building and international cooperation, particularly through the United Nations and ASEAN frameworks. He also underscored the importance of addressing online crime and scams, which are increasingly linked to transnational crime, money laundering and trafficking in persons, as well as promoting Thailand-UAE cooperation on cybersecurity and emerging issues, including AI, critical infrastructure security and post-quantum technologies.
