On 1 May 2023, H.E. Sorayut Chasombat, Ambassador of Thailand, together with Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and Ms. Nantaporn Laobooncharoen, Deputy Consul-General/ Acting Consul-General, presided over the opening ceremony of the Thailand Pavilion at Arabian Travel Mart (ATM) 2023 held during 1 – 4 May 2023 at Dubai World Trade Centre in Dubai. The Thailand Pavilion presents the theme ‘Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters’ featuring sustainable tourism, and health and wellness tourism in line with the global trends of sustainability and better healthcare. The Ambassador also met with 46 entrepreneurs from Thailand participating in the event; 32 hotels, 10 travel agencies, three attractions, and one tourism platform.

In 2022, Thailand welcomed approximately 314,882 Middle East visitors, with nearly 100,000 visitors from Saudi Arabia, and around 66,000 visitors from the UAE. In 2023, Thailand expects to welcome as many as 25 million visitors.
