On 8 May 2023, His Excellency Mr. Sorayut Chasombat, Ambassador of Thailand met with His Excellency Mr. Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director of the Operations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates to express the Embassy’s gratitude to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and UAE Government for the assistance in the issuance of flight clearances and assisting the Royal Thai Air Force’s aircrafts stop-over in Dubai during the evacuation mission for Thai citizens from Sudan in April 2023.

The Director of the Operations Department informed the Thai Ambassador that in view of the close and cordial relations between Thailand and the UAE, the Government of the UAE was pleased to support the Thai Government’s humanitarian efforts and offered to assist in the evacuation of Thai nationals from Sudan to the UAE if necessary. The Ambassador thanked the Director for the kind offer and good will from the UAE and would convey the proposal to the relevant authorities in Thailand.
