On 10 March 2022, Ambassador Waravuth Pouapinya delivered an opening speech and presided over the "Phuket for Specialised Expo 2028 Reception", at Long Chim Restaurant at Expo2020 Dubai hosted by Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) to express Thailand's readiness and announce Thailand's candidature to host the Specialised Expo 2027/2028 in Phuket. The theme for "Expo 2028 - Phuket, Thailand" will be "Future of Life: Living in Harmony, Sharing Prosperity", the goals of which is compatible with Phuket, which is well known for health and wellness leisure that is also in harmony with nature.
