Travel Guidelines for Travellers to enter Thailand from 22 December 2021 as measures to prevent and control the spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19

Thailand Pass will be closed for all new "Test and Go and Sandbox applications" (except Phuket Sandbox), starting from 22 December 2021 until further notice.

 

1. All applicants have to abide by the following new measures;

1.1 Applicants who have already received their Thailand Pass QR Code can enter Thailand under

the scheme they have registered;

1.2 Applicants who have registered, but have not received their QR Code must wait for their Thailand Pass to be considered / approved. Once approved, they can enter Thailand underthe scheme they have registered;

1.3 New applicants will not be able to register for "Test and Go and Sandbox measures" (except Phuket Sandbox). Thailand Pass will only accept new applicants to enter Thailand under Alternative Quarantine (AQ) or Phuket Sandbox;

1.4 Passengers arriving in Thailand under "Test and Go and Sandbox Programme" (1.1 & 1.2) must undergo their 2nd COVID-19 test using the RT-PCR technique (not ATK self-test) at government-designated facilities at no additional cost.

 

2. New procedures to enter Thailand:

2.1 Travelers have to be fully vaccinated with Sinovac/ AstraZeneca/ Pfizer/ Johnson & Johnson/ Moderna/ Sinopharm/ Sputnik for at least 14 days prior to the departure date, and will have to undergo 7-day quarantine;

2.2 Hold a confirmed booking of flight ticket and 7-day quarantine at AQ or SHA+ hotel booking (for Phuket Sandbox). Travelers, who have not been fully vaccinated, must undergo 10-day quarantine in a hotel;

2.3 Hold a valid health insurance that covers medical expenses with a minimum of 50,000 USD, throughout the period of stay in Thailand (not applicable to Thai citizen);

2.4 Hold a negative COVID-19 RT-PCR test result with the validity of 72 hours prior to the departure;

2.5 Register for the Thailand Pass QR Code via https://tp.consular.go.th/ 3-5 working days prior to the departure date. Your registration can be tracked on the same website by entering the 6-digit code received after successful registration.

 

- Young travellers below the age of 6: Vaccination and RT-PCR test result upon arrival are not required if traveling with parents or legal guardian, and once in Thailand, must undergo COVID-19 test using saliva testing technique.

- Young travellers aged 6-11: Vaccination is not required but must present a RT-PCR test result, issued within 72 hours before departure, upon arrival, and must travel with parents or legal guardian.

- Young travellers aged 12-17: Able to travel alone if vaccinated with 1 dose of vaccine no less than 14 days before travelling, and must undergo 10-day quarantine. If unvaccinated, must travel with parents, and must present a RT-PCR test result, issued within 72 hours before departure, upon arrival.

- Young travellers aged 18 or over: Regulations 2.1 and 2.5 will be applied.
