On 5 December 2012, the Royal Thai Embassy in Abu Dhabi hosted a reception for diplomatic corps and foreigners in the UAE on the occasion of H.M. the King’s 85th birthday anniversary and the National Day of Thailand at Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara. H.E. Dr. Hadef bin Jawa’an Al Dhaheri, Minister of Justice of the UAE, attended the reception as Guest of Honour.
           In his opening remarks, H.E. Mr. Warawudh Chuwiruch, Thai Ambassador to the UAE, paid homage to H.M. King Bhumibol Adulyadej who has long united and inspired the Thai people, before touching upon the cordial relations between Thailand and the UAE.  Afterwards, the 25 Ambassadors present and approximate 200 guests viewed the exhibition boards on H.M. the King’s life and work, the fruit carving demonstration by member of the Thai Women’s Club in Abu Dhabi, three sets of Thai traditional dances by artists from Dusit Thani Dubai and tasted Thai cuisine prepared by the Hotel’s Thai chefs.
