On 14 December 2012, H.E. Mr. Warawudh Chuwiruch, Thai Ambassador to the UAE, presided over the opening ceremony of the 1st Thai Workers’ Sports Day in the UAE at Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi, organized by the Labour Section of the Embassy.
           The event received excellent support from foreign companies in the UAE hiring Thai workers as well as the Thai community in the UAE and the Thai Women’s Club in Abu Dhabi. The number of players in 7-men-football, sepak takraw and bowling plus enthusiastic spectators totaled over 600 persons, including Mr. Thosaporn Moonlasartsathorn, Thai Consul-General in Dubai. 
           After a hard contested but thoroughly fair and fun day of sports, the Ambassador and Mr. Banyat Siripreecha, Labour Attaché, handed over trophies and medals to the winning teams and invited everyone to have a Thai dinner at the office of the Labour Section.
