On 15 September 2013, Thai Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Thai Consul-General to Dubai and representatives of Team Thailand offices to the UAE attended the opening ceremony of the Thai Fruits Promotion 2013 organized by the Thai Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives. The event counted 70 participants from the diplomatic corps, business sector and media.
           In his opening remarks, H.E. Warawudh Chuwiruch, Ambassador, said that the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives shipped over 2 tons of various Thai fruits and distributed to a number of Thai restaurants in the UAE where consumers will have the chance to taste them in the next 1-2 weeks. The Ambassador also mentioned health benefits of each type of Thai fruit. Afterwards, the Ambassador, the Team Thailand and Mrs. Supaporn Pimonlikit, Inspector-General of the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, proceeded to the symbolic ribbon-cutting.
           Before the said event, on 13 September 2013, the Ambassador hosted a dinner in honour of the delegation from the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives at his Residence and briefed them about the fruits market as well as trade and investment opportunities in the UAE.
